We do the majority of our re-mulchings in the spring to early summer seasons, but can provide this service late February through Christmas. Some of our mulch varieties include standard double ground hardwood, triple ground (darker/finer variety), and dyed brown or black.
Green Guys recommends maintaining a 2"-3" layer of mulch throughout the year. We also recommend cultivating/"turning over" your mulch at least once a year. Cultivating mulch is similar to aerating your lawn in that it helps prevent compaction, increases air flow, and allows nutrients including water to get to the base of plant material. Cultivation also aids the breakdown process.
